Running Confession:
Remember 2 weeks ago [you know, as if you guys actually keep up with my day-to-day life] when I posted a ridiculously sweaty picture of myself and told you I cried during my first speed/interval workout? Yeah, well: our second one is tomorrow and I’m — well, I’m — uh: scared. Boo! Last time was 5 x 400 and I only made it through 3 before having a mental breakdown on the track. Well, that sounds dramatic — I shed a few tears, walked away for a minute and then sucked it up and did 2 more. Tomorrow we have 6 x 400. I thought I was going to fall over and die after 5 [scratch that — after 2.] I started thinking about what I’d leave in my will and what my last words would be as I curled up on the track [Note: No curling up on the track was done.]
Anyway: ever since that first speed workout my running has been fabulous [mentally and physically!] I just don’t want to feel like I suck again.
Okay, that’s enough emotional running babble. I’ll just focus on teaching the whole day tomorrow and then possibly pay a student to kick me in the shins or slam a literature book on my foot before 3pm.
