Tonight in class we’re watching Akeelah and the Bee.
Let me tell you a story:
I worked at Rite-Aid for 6 years of my life during high school and college. When we started selling this cheap DVD player, my manager opened one DVD: Akeelah and the Bee. This movie replayed over and over and over again to showcase the DVD player. Every shift, I’d stand by the register and watch the movie. Every shift, I’d restart it once it finished.
I liked the movie the first 13 times. Now it makes me cringe. Apparently, it’s going to teach me everything I need to know about underachievement in girls.
AND: I forgot my chapstick. Le sigh.

What is the rationale for watching movies every grad class? I can understand why you cringe!

Skiiiiiiiip. You should just start reciting lines…prove you’ve seen it and then excuse yourself.

You can text me if you get bored. But that might make it worse…

So this doctor I’m going to see tomorrow, her partner in the practice won the 1985 spelling bee. It was on their FAQ page. Just so you know. And I’d lend you my Burt’s Bees if possible.
